Let's face it...

Women haven't always been encouraged to use the wood shop. In an effort to reach out to folks interested in woodworking, I made a few videos hoping to demystify the process for friends who told me, "I've always wanted to learn how to use power tools!" My proudest moment while teaching Wood Shop Basics at Artisan's Asylum were when two women used a reciprocating saw for the first time and told me it made them feel powerful. Opening up possibilities for those students who haven't always felt welcome gives me great satisfaction.
